Why Gas Prices Have Dropped

Sunday, November 23rd, 2008

The immediate conclusions are because the economy is bad or because of the election. But let us not forget that a global economic meltdown affects the rich more than the poor.

The poor have little to lose, the rich have everything to lose.

In an economic meltdown, billions are suddenly worthless or at least worth a lot less. Oil barons and corporations have been manipulating the markets for at least the past 10 years, bleeding every cent out of the consumer, changing the lifestyle of the average joe from where freedom once was — to travel at one’s leisure — to one of submission — pay the big bucks to just go around the corner.

Let’s remember the first Depression. The rich jumped to their deaths for only one reason – they lost everything when the market fell.

I’m not an economist, but who trusts economists nowadays anyway? Let’s not be fooled. Oil prices have dropped so that the oil rich can maintain value for their billions. And that is the only reason.

Sad, Pathetic Moment for Racial Bigots Over…?

Saturday, November 22nd, 2008

Well, Bob Jones University has officially apologized for racism it has held to over the last few decades. This is further evidence of how so-called Christian entities have failed in their mission to ‘think ahead’ for Christ in order to reach and change the world, and how their inbred bigoted stubbornness and unwillingness to yield to change have proven to be an embarrassment for them, yet a wise choice for those persons who have rejected their social positions on the issues of the day. While BJU has apologized for this particular evil attitude, they have yet to abandon hypocrisy and acknowledge the humanity of gays they are called to love. Read about it here.

Courts Force eHarmony to Deal with Hypocrisy

Saturday, November 22nd, 2008

The online dating service that promotes finding your ‘soul mate’ finally is forced to abide by its own Biblical construct. The eHarmony Web site has consistently discriminated against users searching for members of the same sex, yet its ads declare that eHarmony is where you will find your soul mate.

Anyone who knows the Bible knows that it is in the first book of Samuel where we read about the soul of David — considered theologically as “a man after God’s own heart” and “the apple of God’s eye” — being knit with the soul of Jonathan so that “he [Jonathan] loved him [David] as his own soul.” If souls can be knit together, it takes both people to be participants, and this is how we get soul mates.

But eHarmony took this strong Biblical concept to the Internet and broadcast arena as a mantra for heterosexuals, when it is definitively a same sex relationship, one that troubles so many preachers and theologians who contend that God hates homosexuality or homosexuals, and have made that their agenda for preaching in this day and age, when God repeatedly — especially through Christ — has condemned hypocrisy, something theologians rarely address, especially within their own circles.

Nice to see the US courts are holding these people accountable to the rest of humanity. There is a just God.
